This is the day before classes start, so the plan is to explore campus and to figure out where all our classes are. Mr. Kim said to just go to the classes we wanted even if they weren't officially registered in our course bag yet, and eventually everything should get settled.
Slept in today. Sunday is a day of rest.
Met up with Glen to check out a bakery, Paris Baguette. I forgot my camera battery for this outing, so the next few pictures have been taken with my phone (all the widescreen ones).
Bakery interior. This bakery also has labels in English, as well as a wider selection than Le Pommier.
I got a cornet, cream cheese bread, and some huge garlic toast (which turned out to be more sweet than savory???).
Glen's and my milk. I think it's also part of Paris Baguette label.
Caught Glen in midblink so let's just pretend he's enjoying this explosion of baked goods goodness in his mouth.
Fresh cream cornet which was so good ahh....
Ok headed back to the dorms where I picked up my camera battery and Glen did his laundry. We figured out all the room numbers and then set off to find everything.
Cool clock I never knew we had.
Went into the General Studies building first, where everything was salmon-colored.
It was connected to the Natural Sciences buildings, which had some interesting choices in architecture. Like this hole. And like those lockers on the other side of that hole.
Engineering building staircase. Not sure if I should call it a building instead of like a cluster of buildings.
There's a sky bridge between the buildings in the cluster. We had to find creative ways to enter into some of the buildings since half the doors were locked/ID-swipable only. We still have yet to get our IDs. Life was cruel.
I think this is the architecture part of the engineering building on the 5th floor.
When walking around trying to find the other buildings (they are all numbered, so if you have a class in 22110, it's in building 22, on the 1st floor, room #10) since they weren't numbered on the map (although they are numbered on this electronic map here which would've saved Glen and me a lot of time) we saw a guy delivering McDonald's.
Also spotted a stray cat. This is one of the few animals l I've seen on campus other than magpies, chickadees, and swallows.
At this point, Glen and I were visiting all of the buildings to check for numbers according to our map. We gave up on trying to find one of the buildings, and returned to the dorms. Later on, we found out that the building we were trying to find was new and was not in the map we were given at all.
We met up with Noah and Windter for dinner at the cafeteria. Dorm food was curry and sesame balls, along with a bean sprout soup. It was pretty good for 3200원 though I can't wait until meals are free with my ID. Still don't know why it was moved from getting our IDs on Friday to getting them on Tuesday. Seriously, it's such a huge detriment.
Was craving ice cream afterwards, so I got this waffle sandwich for 1500원. It was pretty delicious.
Glen's red bean version of mine.
Classes start tomorrow so I expect my posts to be shorter and shorter. Thanks for reading everyone, I have 3-day weekends (no class on Friday) so exploring Korea will have to be put off until then.
Got that clock at Homeplus. Word!
