Booto

Now for something completely different (and mildly Korea related), I was asked by this really nice lady from Locus Corporation: Creative Studio to blog about Booto!

Booto is a shy rabbit that cannot express its feelings without getting embarrassed. Booto's been used in a lot of promotional events in Korea, and there's even a Kakao theme based on it.

Funny story, though. Joy and I were looking for a Booto store since Joy's friends asked her to find some Booto products for her. Unfortunately, there's no physical store, so we pretty much ended up smack dab in the middle of Locus Studios. Even though it was clearly Not A Store, and more of a corporate building, I casually went to the 4th floor (where the directory said there were toys) and we ended up speaking with the team that made Booto, and got some sample dolls (probably because we looked so tired walking around Gangnam looking for it).

Unfortunately, they're pretty hard to find in Korea (what Joy and I've seen, anyway.) We did find a Booto neck pillow in a claw machine near Suwon Station, but that's pretty much it. I tried to win it, but the item was too long for the basket so it pretty much ended up being knocked over whenever it got near the basket drop. It was disappointing since I got such a good grip on it. 

We tried looking for it at the Kyobo Tower near Gangnam Station like the lady suggested we might find Booto products. We pretty much circled B1 and B2 of Kyobo Tower three times and didn't find a hint of this super shy rabbit

We were so shocked that she would just give us these, we took a picture in the very elevator of Locus after a mini freak out.

The lady told us to love our Bootos so that's what I'm planning on doing!
