SKKU: Week 14

So Friday we went back to the immigration office to check about extending our visas for the internship and managed to get through that, with the help of Ryan. Afterwards though, Joy and I went to AK Plaza (Suwon Station) and browsed for gifts.

At 7, Glen had a performance with his dancing group, so Joy and I ate dinner before heading over to watch.

Here's Glen pointing out his Hangul'd name. He also pointed out which performances he was in so I could record them.

Here's Glen's small group practicing their dance behind some bushes. Glen is on the far right.

The male MC had some nice legs.

Can't remember why I took this picture.

Glen's 1st performance with my shaky hands. People kept on getting in the way. You can hear me apologizing to Glen.

Some shots of dancers

A good group who danced to this song.

Glen's 2nd performance! I made sure to go to the front for this. I wish I took a picture of Glen's really happy grin though haha...

A beatboxer whose video I started late because that's when I realized he was pretty amazing.

A surprise portly older man started poppin' like nobody's business.

He was really popular.

Wholesome crossdressers that quickly degraded into a competition that was less than wholesome.

Later, we (Joy, Windter, and I) stole Glen away since it was the 31st of May which meant that there was a free size upgrade at Baskin Robbins. However, that was a lie because we didn't have Happy Points.

A pint of Very Berry Strawberry, Angel's Millefeuille, and Puss in Boots 2.

Until next time!

SKKU: Week 12 & 13

Hey everyone! So I haven't posted for the past two weeks, and not because I am getting lazy, but because everything has kind of fallen into a mundane sort of feeling that I don't really feel the need to blog about it.

On the weekend of week 12, Glen and I ventured to E-Mart where I got a pair of shorts because wow it was getting really hot. Unfortunately, the rest of the week turned out to be pretty cool and breezy because of the rain haha. Glen didn't find clothing he wanted so he bought 3 L of orange and mango juice in a fit of impulse.

We then had a lovely dinner date consisting of "stabby peach halves."

Week 13 (or week 12 academically speaking. I have 1 more week on my count due to the 1 week before school started.), there was a 3-day festival that spanned from Tuesday to Thursday. Make sure to get free shirts! You had to do various tasks, like shake a pedometer 100 times within a minute.

Picture taken by Eliana and shamelessly taken from Facebook. Free is the best color of shirt.

On Thursday night, there were fireworks. I was sitting in my dorm at the time, doing homework, so I tried taking a picture from my window.  You can barely see part of a firework, thanks to me.

So all of the UT students went to the Immigration Office (again) to see if we could extend our visas to cover our summer internship, but we were sadly rejected. Noah, Windter, Glen, and I went shopping at a Galleria instead in a fit of frustration at having to "verify that Samsung was a real company."

One tank top was 5000 won, from Polham. At this point, it's gotten pretty hot. I'm considering shipping back my winter clothing and coats to be honest, but my puffy jacket won't even fit in a standard size 2 box from Korea Post, so we'll see.

Saturday was Joy's performance with her choir club. Speaking of clubs, I never really got emailed about events in the drawing club, so I stopped going...

It was a really hot day.

Joy had said it started at 3:00PM so I was there at 3. It really started at 3:50.

Damn this guy's head for throwing my camera's focus off.

Guys doing a girl's dance.

And then it was Joy's turn to dance!

Take 2 since the music skipped.

And yet again...

Joy handing candy to a confused guy.

gr8 timing on my part

After her performance, we both went to eat out since dinner time had passed. This tree had a cool fractal pattern going on.

We went to go eat at Tomato, which is north of campus. They specialize in bento boxes, and their prices are pretty cheap!

Speaking of meals, future UT/SKKU students should seriously consider not getting the meal plan. The semester's almost over and I still have 99 tickets left. I'd have to eat like 4 times a day to use them all up, and I've eaten here a lot more than the other students who are constantly transiting between Suwon and Seoul, like Joy and Ryan.

A better picture with bad lighting.

Bulgogi & katsu bento set. It was pretty good, and pretty much cost (3,500 won) as much as a meal in the cafeteria (3,400 won), except I actually like the food here.

Peace out! I'm pretty much busy with final projects and studying. I actually have a lot of pictures I've taken on my phone, but I can't be bothered, so there's probably going to be a post at the end of all this with all these misc. pictures with vague captions because I've forgotten why I took the picture in the first place.

SKKU: Week 11 (World Culture Festival & Itaewon)

Ryan treated us (Vik, Windter, and I) out on Monday night!

삼겹살 (round 1)

Panoramics.

It was really good. Afterwards, we went to go get hotdogs (round 2)

At this point, Joy joined up with us and we all went to get fruit juice (round 3)

Glen's "Apple!" smile note.

Delicious!

Round 4 was fries, chicken balls, and cheese sticks. After this round, I left to be honest. I couldn't take on Round 5's Baskin Robbins.

Thursday snack.

On Friday, there was a cultural festival. Joy and I decided to go early morning together. At the Hyewha station, we came across some of the Chinese exchange students. Joy and I sneakily followed them because it's been awhile since we've gone to Seoul campus.

It was a dreary day.

We came here too early because nobody seemed ready...

This guy was pro at this game. I sucked.

Hotteok! Though it was kind of doughy...

Brazillian condensed milk candy.

marching band warming up.

Since Joy was pressed for time, we left the festival early.

Joy got this really spicy meat stick, and then we headed off to Itaewon!

I made Joy pose with this fantastic wall.

I miss Tex-Mex.

Helpful information guides all around Itaewon.

A huge dog!

We got some Turkish ice cream, which wasn't all that great.

So there's these plaques on the floor with different countries and different ways to say Hello!

We finally found USA!

And I finally got to eat at McDonald's!

Mmmm Happy Meal.

I close my eyes too much.

1000won socks.

On Saturday, Joy, Glen, and I went to get fruit juice again.

Nobody was there :c

So we went to the neighboring juice shop. We all wanted strawberry and banana so Glen and I opted to get something different. I ended up with this horribly bitter grapefruit and apple juice that I will never get again.
